Animism and Modern Religion

The term Animism is derived from the Latin animus, meaning "soul". Animism is a belief that soul is a universal force; that immaterial souls inhabit and animate natural material objects. In this general sense, animism is present in nearly all religions.

Types of Animism

Animism in the Classic Sense -

Animism in the classic sense refers to the orgins of animism and its dispersal across the planet earth. Animism originated at a time when all races and cultures exsisted as one.
This is evident in the common spiritual beliefs of peoples all across the earth. The Mother Earth concept is a animist utterance that is found all across the earth. Sirius mystery systems are
also a widely dispersed system that seems to be a characteristic of animism. By far the most animist of all major religions would be hinduism. Due to its prohibition of meat which shows
a spiritual concern for other spiritual life. As well as the transmigration of souls. Another concept found amongst animist tribes globally. In ovids metamorphisis, the concept of the prohibition
of meat as well as many other concepts found in animist tribes across the globe exsists.

Animism is not a religion but a set of characteristics found in all religions. Many polytheists are animists. Yet polytheism is not a requirement for animist. The main requirement for animism is the belief in the soul. And more so the equality of souls of all creation.
